Staying Connected & Human is the Rebellion
Published about 1 month ago • 3 min read
Hello Reader,
Lately I keep noticing how many of us are living inside two realities at once.
There is the very ordinary life. Making coffee. Answering emails. Walking the dog. Taking care of people we love.
And there is the world outside our homes.
The grief. The rage. The knowing that our government can shoot a man in the back and call it lawful. The sickening familiarity of watching power protect itself. The quiet terror of realizing how fragile human rights actually are.
Both realities are real.
I do not believe we are meant to choose one over the other.
I do not believe the answer is to become numb. I do not believe the answer is to live in constant activation that slowly erodes our capacity to care.
What I trust more and more is this:
Learning how to stay connected to yourself inside injustice and ordinary life is one of the most important skills of adulthood.
Not in a “be calm all the time” way.
In a “I can feel what I feel without turning it into an emergency” way.
In a “I can hear my own inner voice underneath propaganda and noise” way.
In a “I can still make dinner and still care about justice” way.
In a “I refuse to let my humanity be stripped from me, or strip away another's humanity” way.
This kind of inner steadiness is not weakness.
It is not compliance.
It is a quiet, grounded rebellion. It creates the space for connection and action instead of faffing about.
It is the choice to remain human in a system that benefits from our disconnection.
This steadiness is not a personality trait. It's a cultivated skill.
It is relational. It is SELF- relational. It is built slowly. It is grown through honest attention and courageous practice.
I see my clients soften when they stop assuming their grief means something is wrong with them.
I see my clients regain energy when they stop treating every emotion like a problem to solve.
I see my clients make clearer decisions when they start trusting what they already know about themselves.
And I practice this work for myself, too. Every. Single. Day.
None of this happens overnight.
But it does happen.
If you are in a season where things feel tender, confusing, or heavier than usual, I want you to know this:
You are not broken.
You are awake. You are sensitive. You are human.
That matters.
💛, Allison
What my current clients say:
“Working with Allison feels deeply personalized and attuned to what I actually need. The way she meets me and tracks what’s happening inside me has been more effective than any other support I’ve had.” - G
"Working with Allison helps me get out of my head and back into motion in a way that actually feels kind and realistic. I tend to carry a lot of mental load, and I didn’t realize how heavy it was until we started talking about simple systems that could support me instead of overwhelm me. She helped me see that verbal processing is not a problem. It’s one of my strengths. Using voice notes and low-pressure ways to capture my thoughts has made it easier to access my ideas again without forcing myself into rigid structures.
I also leave our sessions feeling more oriented toward the future in a gentle way. Not in a hustle sense, but in a “I have something to look forward to” sense. That has been huge for my nervous system and my relationship with my business.
Allison doesn’t push. She helps me find small, doable steps that create real momentum. I feel more capable, more resourced, and more trusting of myself because of this work." -T
My Bloom Community group is small and powerful - connection - co-regulation, facilitated deep conversation, and occasional coaching. Life calls and business calls. 288/month with weekly calls, and bi-weekly business sessions. This is a liberal/left safe space.
My 1:1 containers are where the transformation and deep work lives. Steady & skilled support for your life & work (amidst the shit show that is our country right now).
I am best able to help those willing to wrestle with humanness and truth - those open to learning skills of self compassion instead of shame as a path to creative and whole well-being in life and work. My clients are often recovering over-achievers, often over-fucntioners and do-ers, those who hold a shitton of responsibility and are experiencing inner cracks and crumbles as old coping mechanisms die.
If you are deconstructing religion, patriarchy, capitalism and feeling the crushing grief - I've got you. Inquire within by messaging me here or visiting my website (which may or may not be up to date). Let's connect.
Love, AC

Hello Reader, Seasons Shifting & What I Could Have Done Better After my heart attack (and 24+ other life beating events + trauma healing + grief) in 22-2023- I had to "circle my wagons."I had to step down from leading others to put all my energy into leading and caring for myself and my family.I think most humans go through seasons of "survival" due to circumstances beyond their control. These aren't seasons that can be fixed with a mindset or manifestation bypass. They are hard, and often...
