The tired no one mentions out loud

Hello Reader,

There's a kind of tired that successful people don't talk about.

It's not quite burnout - but that might be woven in. Its more like... you've been performing a version of you for so long you've lost where the performance ends and you begin. You are brilliant at your work. People respect you. From the outside - things look fine.
FINE - the dreaded fine.

Underneath, something is shaking, it feels off. Maybe is the anxiety you've learn to manage or medicate so well no one knows how much you mentally hold. Maybe it's the slow realization that you've been doing everyone else's emotional labor for years - and no one is doing yours. Maybe its just this persistent, quiet sense that the life you've built was designated to impress people you don't even like or respect that much.

Oh, you are grateful ....ALWAYS grateful...and you are starting to realize you can't unsee what you've started to see. You are starting to see the "air" you've been breathing all along - and it's not what you thought it was. That can be disconcerting and I can help you navigate it, and build the skills to create the way you desire in your becoming.

I work with humans who are exactly at that point. Smart, excruciatingly self-aware, successful humans, mostly in their 40s and 50s, who are being hit with the heavy knowing that the formulas aren't working.

My clients and I TALK. We really talk. Not through a curriculum or a 12-week-bull-sh*t-bullet-point system, but what is present and pressing right now, in your real life, in your real business, in your real relationships - and in your relationship with yourself. And we tend.

Over time, things shift. Not because you are "fixed," but because you finally had a place to think and dialogue out loud with someone who isn't going to panic at what you say, isn't going to need you to be ok all the time, and knows the difference between the conditioning talking and your actual wisdom.

One of my clients told me recently that for the first time - she was with family and friends, and wasn't in her head about good enough. She was just there, present and connected. Especially with her daughter.

That's it. That's what I'm after for you.

I've been doing this work since 2003. I have a master's degree in educational psychology, I've written about this stuff, lived it, broken under it, and come back. I understand the business side and the inner work side, and I don't think you should have to choose between them.

I work with a small number of people at a time, one on one. If you've been reading this and thinking "she's talking about me," you're probably right.

Reply to this email and let's talk, or if you prefer, go ahead and schedule a discovery session.

Love,

Allison

Hello Reader, Lately I keep noticing how many of us are living inside two realities at once. There is the very ordinary life.Making coffee.Answering emails.Walking the dog.Taking care of people we love. And there is the world outside our homes. The grief. The rage. The knowing that our government can shoot a man in the back and call it lawful. The sickening familiarity of watching power protect itself. The quiet terror of realizing how fragile human rights actually are. Both realities are real. I...
