What I Could Have Done Better

Hello Reader,

Seasons Shifting & What I Could Have Done Better

After my heart attack (and 24+ other life beating events + trauma healing + grief) in 22-2023- I had to "circle my wagons."

I had to step down from leading others to put all my energy into leading and caring for myself and my family.

I think most humans go through seasons of "survival" due to circumstances beyond their control.
These aren't seasons that can be fixed with a mindset or manifestation bypass. They are hard, and often lonely.

I thought I would ReBloom in 2024. The universe had other plans and it has been a relentless slow crawl out of survival. Compassion has been a key ingredient.

In May I took some steps of self trust and began re-cultivating my confidence and creativity. Again, a slow journey to do this is congruence w my body. (I've also had a long COVID lung condition that stole my energy and breath for 3 years- I finally have a treatment that works).

The hardest part of everything was the stripping away of my confidence professionally - and the experience of not feeling creative, fun, or bold in any way. Deep lessons there for another post.

Here I AM - August 2025. 3 years ago today. I was in a hospital room.

Today - my professional self has returned from sabbatical and her creative juices are flowing, my capacity has increased, and my heart for connection has opened.

There's a part of me that feels "shame." One past client said, "you left us" when I shut down my communities and membership.

I did. I'm sorry. What I could've done better was ask for help from my own community. Sometimes even strong swimmers begin to drown. But because we've always been able to handle it in the past- no one suspects we're flailing - and I certainly still struggle with asking for help. I wish I had in 2022-23.

All I know to do now is show up and
CREATE my magic. To be a helper, to offer my free and paid offerings to the people, to BE in the room again.

Last night I was editing a past workshop video- and thought, "dang, I'm good."

I've had these moments often with my beloved one-on-one clients over the last three years. Just between me and my client that knowing that this is the good stuff I've missed having it in my professional in public realm. I know there's no going back to who I was, I am completely different than I was three years ago, but I'm stepping forward raising my hand and ready to contribute again.

With this I'm stepping back into community leadership and connection:

I've created a new online space - away from the algorithms- to share my heart, show my work, and love on my people. If I had a brick and mortar community space for connection, creativity, co-working and a little magic - this would be it. And these are the essences I'm bringing to this space. I'd love to invite you to come and contribute, ask questions, and be in the room.

While Root+Reclaim is a free space and all are welcome to come and engage:

Hello Reader, Lately I keep noticing how many of us are living inside two realities at once. There is the very ordinary life.Making coffee.Answering emails.Walking the dog.Taking care of people we love. And there is the world outside our homes. The grief. The rage. The knowing that our government can shoot a man in the back and call it lawful. The sickening familiarity of watching power protect itself. The quiet terror of realizing how fragile human rights actually are. Both realities are real. I...
