When the World Feels Unbearably Heavy

Hello Reader,

There is so much pain in the air right now.

Here in Central Texas, entire communities have been devastated by flooding. As I write this, the number of lives lost keeps rising... including dozens of young girls from Camp Mystic, entire families on vacation for the holiday. I can’t stop thinking of the families, the river, the ache.

And just days ago, HB1 passed. This chilling bill has wide-reaching implications for access, equity, and the very fabric of our rights. All this while our neighbors are being kidnapped, detained, and even disappeared without due process by masked men. WTF.

It’s heavy. And real. These are not aspirational times.

So I want to say this plainly:
If you’re finding it harder to focus, produce, or feel “like yourself”… I get it. You are not messed up. You’re awake in a messed-up world.

This moment is demanding something deeper from us than polished performance or personal development hype.

For the leaders I work with ~ founders, professionals, parents, creatives. . .this is exactly where the internal system starts to shake. Old coping strategies (over-functioning, people-pleasing, perfectionistic control) stop working.
And when the world outside is this raw, the inner world starts rumbling too.

What I know after 21 years in this work is this:
Check in to see what you are called to do in your own inner world - this is not an outside-in mandate, it is an invitation to the inner mandate of self-trust.

Now is the time to stop spinning and start listening.
Now is the time for grounded emotional leadership—from the inside out.
Not performative positivity. Not bypass.
But real, practical, embodied support.

That’s what I offer. . . because that’s what I practice.
And it’s what’s most needed right now for many of us.

Central Texas and these rivers are my home. This Nation is my home. My own heart and body are my home. I'm committed to grounding deeper, processing my shit, and helping where I can.

💛, Allison Crow

If you're in Texas or have been impacted by these events, I'm holding space with you. Please take care of your nervous system, stay hydrated, and let yourself feel the ache. Then, help where you can, if you can.

A colleague from my former life (Real Estate) is on the ground organizing volunteers and has a nonprofit that is helping out. If you want to check him out and see where and how you can help - his facebook feed is here. And in this post he discuses how they are using funds donated - The Venmo for the nonprofit is listed.

I also trust the non-profit run by H-E-B grocery stores. They are HUGE helpers.

These aren’t normal times, and we can’t expect ourselves to operate like they are. If you’re holding a lot and unsure where to go with it all, know that you don’t have to carry it alone. Reach out if you need to. This is the work I do: steady, strategic, and soul-deep and above all - Reality with Hope.
Love, AC

Hello Reader, Lately I keep noticing how many of us are living inside two realities at once. There is the very ordinary life.Making coffee.Answering emails.Walking the dog.Taking care of people we love. And there is the world outside our homes. The grief. The rage. The knowing that our government can shoot a man in the back and call it lawful. The sickening familiarity of watching power protect itself. The quiet terror of realizing how fragile human rights actually are. Both realities are real. I...
